'Why is he like this?'

Alex asked herself this question all the time.

She could only watch as her stupid little brother dragged his bike up the steepest slope he could find.

"You're going to get hurt." He rolled his eyes at her.

"Will not! Just you watch!"

Alex sighed, knowing it would be a waste of time to stop him. She watched as he fastened his sticker covered helmet to his head. At least he remembered that. This wasn't going to end well... At least they were fairly close to home where their mom was cooking dinner.

"I'm not responsible for this!" She called up to him, but was ignored.

Jack began to 'announce' his great stunt.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! I, the GREAT Jack, will be attempting the greatest stunt the world has ever seen! Many have tried and failed this daring act, it is dangerous... Death defying... The most amazing, daring-"

"Not smart, incredibly stupid stunt. Will you hurry it up with the three page speech? I'm hungry." Alex called up, rolling her eyes at the dramatic sibling.

Jack huffed and started to petal, gaining speed. Just as Alex predicted, he crashed as soon as he went over the peak. He rolled in the dirt and landed on the thorn bush not far from where she stood. He whined in pain, scratched up and bleeding from his nose. Alex gave him an unamused stare.

"You done yet, oh Great Jack?" She asked mockingly.

"Ow..."

When they got home their mother instantly noticed the bloody scratches and nose. She turned to Alex with a stern look.

"Why is he bleeding?" Alex shrugged

"Because he's an idiot." Their mother wasn't amused.

"I didn't know that idiocy caused people to just spontaneously start bleeding from the nose."

"I think it's a new phenomenon."
